Rental Conditions
Rental Requirements
All motorcycle rentals require the following documentation and qualifications:
- Valid passport for identification
- Current driver’s license from your home country
- International driving permit with motorcycle endorsement (strongly recommended and required by Thai law for legal operation)
- Sufficient motorcycle riding experience – (If, in the reasonable judgment of our staff, a rider is not competent to safely operate a motorcycle, we reserve the right to decline or cancel the rental in the interest of the rider’s safety and the safety of others.)
Damage, Loss, and Liability
Renters are financially responsible for any damage to the motorcycle beyond normal wear and tear.
The renter assumes full liability for theft or loss of the motorcycle during the rental period.
Renters are responsible for any damage caused to third-party property while operating the motorcycle.
Any legal penalties, fines, or fees incurred while riding the motorcycle are the renter’s responsibility.
Riding is at your own risk. Ducky’s Motorcycle Rental disclaims all liability for personal injury, loss, or damage.
Insurance Coverage
All motorcycle rentals include basic insurance protection with the following coverage limits:
Third Party Liability
- Bodily injury or death per person: ฿500,000
- Bodily injury or death per accident: ฿10,000,000
- Public liability for property damage: ฿200,000
Additional Protection
- Bail bond coverage: ฿200,000
Important: Insurance coverage is only valid with a proper international driving permit that includes motorcycle certification. Please note that while insurance covers third-party claims, renters remain financially responsible for damage to the rental bike, any third party damage in excess of insurance coverage, and other costs as detailed.
Optional Property Protection
We offer additional coverage for motorcycle damage protection. Without this coverage, renters assume full responsibility for any damage to the rental motorcycle. Coverage applies only within Thailand and includes a deductible per incident. It does not cover theft.
Property Protection Rates:
- Daily rental: ฿300
- Damage excess per claim (deductible) : ฿15,000

Security Deposits
We offer three security deposit options:
Leave your passport with us — ฿8,000 deposit
Keep your passport and add damage insurance — ฿15,000 deposit
Keep your passport without damage insurance — ฿30,000 deposit
Deposits can be in cash or as a credit preauthorization. For cash security deposits, we accept Thai Baht, USD or Euro.
Cross Border Travel
For border crossings to Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, motorcycle temporary export documents are available for a ฿5,000 fee per country. We also require a ฿30,000 international border crossing security deposit. We provide all legally required documents according to Thai regulations. However, successful border crossings cannot be guaranteed as final approval depends on the discretion of border officials at the time of crossing. Renters must notify us at the time of booking if they plan on any border crossings so we can prepare the documents in advance.
Payment Terms
Full payment is required on the first day of rental. We accept multiple payment methods:
- Cash (Thai Baht or USD)
- Bank transfer
- Credit card (additional 3% processing fee applies)
Rider Responsibilities and Restrictions
Only the renters listed on the agreement may drive the motorcycle.
The motorcycle must not be used for racing, stunts, or illegal activities.
Riding under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances is strictly prohibited.
All riders must obey Thai traffic laws at all times.
These rules help reduce risks and protect both riders and Ducky’s from liability.
Inspection & Condition Reporting
Renters are encouraged to thoroughly inspect the motorcycle before leaving the rental location.
Taking photos or videos of the bike’s condition at pickup is highly recommended.
This documentation helps prevent disputes over damage responsibility upon return.
Mechanical Issues Handling
All motorcycles are maintained to high standards to ensure safety and reliability.
If you experience mechanical problems during your rental, contact us immediately.
Do not attempt any repairs yourself unless specifically authorized by Ducky’s.
We will provide roadside assistance or arrange a replacement bike if necessary.
Breakdowns caused by rider misuse or negligence are not covered by Ducky’s.
Late and After Hours Returns
After-hours returns are allowed with prior notification. A 500 THB fee may apply.
After-hours returns without prior notification will incur a fee equivalent to one full daily rental rate.
If you wish to extend your rental, please notify us as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you, but extensions are subject to availability. If the motorcycle has already been reserved, we may be unable to grant an extension.
Returns made after the scheduled return date without prior approval will be charged at the normal daily rate plus an additional surcharge equal to 25% of the total rental period cost.
Cancellation Policy
More than 7 days before rental: 100% refund of booking deposit
Less than 7 days before rental: Deposit forfeited.
